Diogenes 2023 Conditions

• Films will be accepted from April 3, until October 15.
• The films selected for the festival’s main competition will be announced on November 15 and the festival will officially open on this day. Award ceremonial of the winning films will take place on November 22.
• The participation fee is $5 only.
• Selected films will be shown on the big screen in the second half of November.

1. Main international jury
• The main international jury will select four winning films in the following categories: feature, animation, documentary, experimental, and musical.
• Also, the same jury will award winners with diplomas in the categories of feature, animation, documentary, experimental, and musical.
2. Student jury
• The student jury of the festival will select winners and award them with prizes, named “Alaverdoba”, “Serenade”, “Sapovnela”, and “Musicians” in the categories of fiction, animation, documentary, experimental, and musical.
• Also, the same jury will award winners with diplomas in the categories of feature, animation, documentary, experimental, and musical.

1. The duration of the film should not exceed 15 minutes and 45 seconds.
2. The film should be made in 2022-2023.
3. Animated, artistic, documentary, experimental, and video art films are accepted.
4. No violence, no separatism, no intolerance, no revanchism, no war propaganda.
5. Free theme
6. Each participant can submit no more than 2 (two) films.
7. The film must be accompanied by English subtitles.
8. The organizers of the festival have the right to download the film submitted to the competition for the selection and full work of the jury.

We must inform you and remind you that before entering the main competition program of our festival, films go through two selection stages.

The works are selected through certain criteria, which are developed by a competent independent selection committee every year.

After passing the first one, authors are notified that their work has passed the first stage of film selection, after which they must provide the festival with a link to download the film, so that the selection committee can fully evaluate the work and allow or not allow the films to participate in the main competition.

Each competitor will be personally informed about passing the second stage and will be sent a special sign about the film’s entry into the main competition.

Lists of films entered into the competition are officially published on all platforms.
