The announcement of the international internet film festival “Diogenes 2024” for short films

The short film festival “Diogenes 2024,” which features innovative projects, represents itself as a festival with short films on the internet globally. It holds two seasons of screenings, each in two different countries. The innovation in Diogene’s short film festival, “From Diogenes,” is the automatic submission of the film’s announcement once, and the automatic participation in the festival in Diogenes two autonomous seasons – Diogenes – Odessa (Ukraine) and Diogenes – Tbilisi (Georgia) in the autumn.

Summer Festival – “Diogenes Odessa” (Ukraine).

Autumn Festival – “Diogenes Tbilisi” (Georgia).

  Rules:

  1. “Diogenes Odessa” and “Diogenes Tbilisi” have a joint leadership and an organizational platform (Georgia and Ukraine).

  2. The festival starts accepting submissions for competition films from February 1st.

Starting from February 1st, films submitted will have the opportunity to participate in the competition program of the Summer Festival – “Diogenes Odessa” (to be held in June 2024) and the Autumn Festival – “Diogene Tbilisi” (to be held in November 2024).

3. Both “Diogenes Odessa” and “Diogenes Tbilisi” will host two international juries – the main jury and the student jury.

4. The deadline for submitting films to “Diogenes Odessa” is May 15.

5. The deadline for submitting films to “Diogenes Tbilisi” is October 15.

6. The main events of the Summer Festival “Diogenes Odessa” – announcement, screening, selection of winners, and award ceremony – will take place from June 15 to June 30.

7. The main events of the Autumn Festival “Diogenes Tbilisi” – announcement, screening, selection of winners, and award ceremony – will take place from November 15 to November 30.

8. In case of force majeure circumstances related to current activities in Ukraine, the dates of the thematic part of the “Diogenes Odessa” festival may be changed by the organizers.

12. The jury has the right not to select a winning film in any category if the submitted works do not meet the standards and criteria for receiving the award.

13. Masterclasses will be held within the “Diogenes Tbilisi” festival.

14. Regulations for the presentation of films at the “Diogenes Odessa” and “Diogenes Tbilisi” festivals:

Films produced in 2022 or later, up to 2023 and 2024, are eligible for submission.

The duration of the film should not exceed 20 minutes.

Professional films in the following genres will be accepted: Artistic, Documentary, Animation, and Experimental.

Vertical cinema films are welcome.

The festival condemns the promotion of war, occupation, and any form of propaganda that supports the use of force in Ukraine and opposes any form of aggressive actions on the territory of Ukraine and Georgia.

15. We are against: violence, propaganda of war, revanchism, extremism, national and religious hatred, discrimination based on social, ethnic, and gender factors, and films created for propaganda purposes in this content and ideological context will not be included in the competition program.

16. Film registration is subject to a fee of $5 (five dollars).

If a film is registered once from February 1, it automatically participates in the selection programs of both festivals (“Diogenes Odessa” and “Diogenes Tbilisi”) without the need for a new registration and payment. Free registration is available only for films produced in Ukraine and Georgia.
