Inmates will evaluate films presented at the Tbilisi International Short Film Internet Festival “DIOGENES”
- For the first time in the penitentiary system on the initiative of the organizers of the Tbilisi International Internet Short Film Festival, inmates will evaluate the films presented in the main competition program and determine the winners.
- The inmates will evaluate the films of four categories – fiction, documentary, animation and experimental – according to the existing criteria.
- For this purpose, the organizers of the International Internet Short Film Festival “Diogenes” (Koba Tskhakaya, Manana Lekborashvili, Ramaz Bakhtadze) visited Penitentiary Institution No. 16, presented the inmates with the films presented within the festival and introduced the evaluation criteria.
- Besides the inmates, the films will be evaluated by two independent juries. The awarding of the winners will take place in September.
- The Short Film Festival is held annually, with representatives of about 100 countries taking part.
- The Special Prison Service will continue to promote the rehabilitation-socialization of accused/convicted persons and the maintenance of prisoners’ contacts with the outside world.
