🎬 Kakha Labuchidze awarded the prize to the winner of the Tbilisi International Short Film Festival “Diogene 2021”
🔶 Chairman of the Tbilisi City Council Education and Culture Commission, Kakha Labuchidze, winner of the II International Internet Festival “Diogene 2021”, Iranian director Kioma Mohammed Chenar, Tbilisi Municipality The prize was given by hand.
🔊 According to Kakha Labuchidze’s statement, the pandemic has created a new reality and it is important that we keep the country’s cultural development dynamics as much as possible in this situation. That is why Tbilisi City Council and City Hall will always support such creative festivals and projects.
🔶 Film Festival “Diogene”, whose idea was directed by Koba Tskhakaia and playwright Soso Mchedlishvili, was founded during the pandemic with the slogan “Stay at home, ‒ make a movie”. The festival is international and every year more than 100 countries are participating by famous or debutant directors. This year, up to 1200 applications were submitted in the competition, from which 27 film were selected for the final. The main prize of the festival was given to four films this year, and five received encouraging diplomas.
🔶 It is noteworthy that within the framework of the festival a special prize named “Serenada”, dedicated to the memory of the cinematic family of Khotivaris.
🔶 Tbilisi City Hall is the partner of the festival, Georgian Cinema Academy, Culture Chamber and Public Broadcasting.
